The 12th International Exhibition in Vietnam on Telecommunications and Information Technology (also known as "Vietnam Telecomp 2008") and the International Exhibition in Vietnam on Electronics Products 2008 (also known as "Vietnam Electronics 2008") open today at HoChiMinh City International Exhibition and Convention Center (HIECC). Officially sponsored by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and co-organized by the Vietnam Posts & Telecommunications Group (VNPT), the largest operator in Vietnam and Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd (Adsale), the twin expos occupy an exhibition area of over 6,000 sq.m. and gather around 200 exhibitors from 17 countries / regions.

Exhibitors Showcase Latest Technology with Interactive Display and Life Demonstration
As the largest and most significant ICT and electronics event in Vietnam, both local and overseas giant operators, renowned ICT enterprises, service & solution providers and telecom & electronic products manufacturers, etc. showcase their full-range of leading-edge technology, service and products during the 4-day events with creative and interactive display and life demonstration.

For instance, SK Telecom, the leading wireless communications provider in Korea, displays a wide range of convergence services such as Satellite DMB, MelOn music service, GXG mobile game, Mobile CyWorld social networking service, m-Finance and Telematics, which connect people to entertainment, finance, home networking and many other services at anytime, anywhere.

Alcatel-Lucent features its full range of end-to-end solutions with specific demonstrations on "Content and Applications Across Any Access", "Universal Broadband", " Advanced Business Models" and "IP Transformation".

Orange France Telecom introduces its topnotch products and technologies by providing the visitors "touch and feel" experience of 3G services in the twin expos, which will be launched in the market soon in Vietnam.

Nokia Siemens Networks, one of the largest telecommunications infrastructure companies in the world, showcases its complete, well-balanced product portfolio of mobile and fixed network infrastructure solutions.

NTT DOCOMO demonstrates a wide variety of mobile multimedia services, including its famous service brand - "i-mode" as well as its digital wallet services, which make the mobile phone an even more indispensable tool in daily life.

Overseas Pavilions Enhance the International Content of the Shows
At the same time, the presence of country pavilions further enriches the international content of the twin expos. The two pavilion organizers from China, including China Pavilion, which is being led by CCPIT Electronics and Information Industry Sub-Council and PTAC Pavilion, which is being led by China PTAC Communications Services Co., Ltd bring the largest group of exhibitors to the twin expos. On the other hand, pavilion organizers from Korea (Korea IT Business Women's Association "KIBWA") and Singapore (Singapore Industrial Automation Association "SIAA") also demonstrate their consecutive support to the twin expos this year by bringing groups of notable ICT and electronics enterprises to the shows.

Furthermore, one of the breakthroughs this year is the first presence of two new pavilion organizers from Taiwan and Thailand. Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (TEEMA) leads a number of well-known Taiwan-based enterprises, showcasing their leading-edge and quality hardware and software such as various types of power supply cord, PVC, rubber, fiber optic cable & wire, wireless broadband access, power system solution, network multiplexer, terminal blocks, VOIP device, various types of handsets, converter and connectors together with vast form of test & measurements solution. While the Thailand pavilion is being led by Software Industry Promotion Agency (Public Organization), introducing a list of notable enterprises which showcase advanced content, knowledge, facility, enterprises asset and security management system and service solutions which can be widely applied to service, utility, facility, property, health care, manufacturing, banking and trading sectors.

Concurrent Symposia Provide Effective Platform for International Exchange
To facilitate high-level exchange on ICT hottest topics and share development experience among industry influencers, leaders and experts, symposia are held concurrently with the expos. The Official Seminar, which is held on the first event day, is organized for the regulators and operators to discuss the topic of "Market Development and Business Opportunities in Vietnam ICT Market in the Integration Era".
