Over 170 Exhibitors and Overseas Pavilions Gather at Vietnam Comm 07

Officially Sponsored by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC), the Vietnam International Communications Summit & Expo (also known as "Vietnam Comm 07") is jointly organized by Vietnam Posts & Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd (Adsale), co-organized by Vietnam Advertisement & Fair Exhibition Company (VIETFAIR) and Vietnam Exhibition & Fair Center (VEFAC). Running from today (September 19) to September 22, 2007, Vietnam Comm 07 was kicked off this morning at VEFAC (Giang Vo Road, Hanoi, SR Vietnam) with tremendous support from seven Vietnam ministries and industries associations in the fields of trade, technology, telecommunications, IT and electronics.

Being the largest and most significant ICT event in Vietnam, Vietnam Comm 07 is honored to have "Diamond Sponsors" from SK Telecom, Cisco and Viettel, "Banquet Sponsor" from Orange, "Gold Sponsors" from NTT DoCoMo, Huawei, UTStarcom and ZTE. Other sponsors include Qualcomm, Alcatel-Lucent, PCCW Global, Nokia Siemens Networks, Invest Hong Kong, Motorola, MK Technology Group and 3C, etc. Their sponsorship signified the important role of Vietnam Comm 07 in the industry.

Occupying an exhibition area of 6,000sq.m, Vietnam Comm 07 gathers over 170 exhibitors from 17 countries and regions including Australia, China, France, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, UK, USA, Vietnam, etc. The show receives overwhelming responses not only from local ICT industry players and telecom operators, but also country pavilions organized by China CCPIT Electronics and Information Industry Sub-Council, Korea IT Business Women's Association (KIBWA), Malaysia Software Consortium of Penang (ScoPe) and Singapore Industrial Automation Association (SIAA). One of the new pavilion organizers, China Association of Communication Enterprises (CACE) will form a cable and optical fiber pavilion with China-made advanced products and technology. The above pavilion organizers will bring over 70 high-tech enterprises of different sizes, which are mostly new to the Vietnam market.

Exhibits of this year's expo cover a large range of high-end ICT products and technologies, such as 3G, broadband, wireless & mobile communications, enterprise system, ICC, infrastructure solutions, IP & network technology, NGN, satellite, security, VoIP, Wi-Fi and WiMAX, etc., which are widely used for industrial automation, medical, banking, transportation, hotels, etc.

One of our Diamond Sponsors, SK Telecom showcases her High Speed Downlink Packet Access services, Satellite Digital Multimedia Broadcasting and other mobile internet services. NTT DoCoMo, one of our Gold Sponsors, displays her leading-edge mobile multimedia services including "I-modeTM", the world's most popular mobile email / internet services, with the addition of credit-card and other e-wallet functions. Another Gold Sponsor UTStarcom demonstrates her RollingStream(tm), which is able to offer new services over existing network infrastructures to support Broadcast TV, Network PVR, Video on Demand and Near Video on Demand. The concurrent summit, held from September 20 to 21, is a crucial part of Vietnam Comm 07. Seizing the immense opportunities derived from Vietnam's entry to the WTO, over 20 renowned local and international corporations together with countries ministries such as MIC of Vietnam, Ministry of Communication, Transport, Posts and Construction of Lao, Ministry of Export Development of Sri Lanka and Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of Cambodia will participate in the two-day summit for high-level information and experience exchange under the main theme of "Business Opportunities in Vietnam Mobile & Wireless Industry in Integration Era" and "ICT Development ? Convergence". Representatives from MIC and VNPT will present the overview of Vietnam ICT market with topics including "Radio and Mobile Development Strategy in Vietnam", "VNPT and New Business Opportunities" and "IT Application in Government's Operation". Other ICT hot topics, such as Wireless Convergence, Next Generation Services Providers, Future Broadband, IPTV, 2G to 3G Migration, IP Network, NGN, WiMAX, Network Solutions and IT Applications will also be addressed by well-known global enterprises including Alcatel-Lucent, Blue Coat, Cisco, Comtech, Datang, Huawei, iBasis Global, Motorola, Nokia Siemens Network, NTT DoCoMo, Orange from France Telecom, PCCW Global, Qualcomm, UTStarcom and ZTE, etc. On the second day of the Summit, a ?Memorandum of Understanding" will be signed between Hong Kong Wireless Development Centre and Radio-Electronics Association of Vietnam to strengthen cooperation of the two places in future. What's more, statutory bodies such as MIC, Office of the Telecommunications Authority of HKSAR (OFTA), Invest Hong Kong and some local as well as international enterprises will participate "Vietnam-China-Hong Kong SAR Experience Sharing" on ICT Development ? Convergence, which is the spotlight session of the Summit.

In addition, another new concurrent event of Vietnam Comm07 is China Enterprises Introductory Conference, which will be held in the afternoon of September 19, 2007. The conference is co-organized by VNPT, China National Postal & Telecommunications Appliances Corp. (PTAC) and Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd (Adsale). The Conference will open up channel for prominent China enterprises to present their company profile, products, technologies and services, etc. to their potential business partners in Vietnam in order to cultivate better understanding and pave the way for stronger cooperation in future.

What's more, to maximize the participation benefits and effectiveness of Vietnam Comm 07 to the exhibitors, particularly those small to medium enterprises and new to Vietnam Market, business consultation services will be provided at the fairground to assist exhibitors in searching their potential business partners. Moreover, the networking session during concurrent summit will increase chances for overseas enterprises in meeting with major local operators to explore business cooperation opportunities.

As a token of appreciation to the exhibitors' outstanding performance and their contribution to the ICT industry, Golden Cup Awards will be presented tonight (September 19) to the exhibitors who showcased their latest wireless communications products, services or technologies with significant impact to the industry. The Awards comprise two categories, including "NGN Equipment" and "Systems & Services for 3G". The judging criteria include the innovativeness of the technology, quality of service, enhancement in content and efficiency as well as benefits of such initiative brought to end users.
